About our organization
Mission
Train police canines and handlers: The association's primary mission is to train police canines and their handlers for the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Provide public information: The organization seeks to educate the public about the work of police K9 units.
Support K9 program: A key goal is to support the needs of the K9 unit through various means, such as providing funding for training, equipment, and the ongoing expenses of retired police dogs.
Values
Commitment to quality training: The association values providing the best possible training for police dogs and handlers to ensure their effectiveness and safety.
Community partnership: They work to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community by fostering awareness and support for the K9 program. Also assisting in the community, schools, and various events.
Sustained support: They are dedicated to supporting the well-being of K9s throughout their careers and into retirement, including assistance with care for their retired partners.
Resourcefulness: By holding fundraising events, they raise crucial funds to support the K9 program.
